(October 25, 1912 – April 6, 1997) Owner of the Washington Redskins, the LA Lakers and the LA Kings. A Canadian-American, he purchased a variety of media companies, sports teams and the Chrysler Building in New York City.
He became the sole owner of the Redskins in 1985, hired coach Joe Gibbs and presided over the team during three Super Bowl victories.
He was married five times and died at age 84.
