MICHEL'S M LIST...
Michel Wright is host of the most listened to midday show in the DMV on WPGC 95.5. Also a very busy voice talent, she can be heard on the BET-J Network as well as many national commercials such as Colgate, Mercedes Benz and Kodak.
In addition to her terrestrial radio show, Michel is part of the XM Satellite channel Suite 62 and has been recognized with a proclamation from the DC City Council for her work with youth through her Neighborflava Foundation.
EAT: You'll try to place your order, "Umm lemme have the shrimp & chicken fajita's please." Then you'll see something else that taunts your palate and ask, "Can I change that to the grilled salmon covered in shrimp with rice, beans & plantain on the side?" Then before your waitperson can finish writing on the order pad you're changing your mind again LOL. There are so many great choices you'll have a hard time deciding what you're gonna eat at LAURIOL PLAZA. The atmosphere's just right with sidewalk tables a rooftop deck and valet parking. And they've won several awards as the place with The Best Mexican food in the DC area hands down. LAURIOL PLAZA's on 18th Street, DC which is one of the city's hot spots and it's plenty crowded whenever you go so be prepared for a little wait but it's well worth it. Ummm mmmm good!
STYLE: When it comes to getting our hair done, a lot of us girls have the very same issues. 1.You sometimes sit hours and hours waiting even when you have an appointment. 2. Shop talk is sometimes both loud and lewd. Ok I'll stop there because you won't have those issues at BILL LAWRENCE SALON. Actually you'll likely not have any problems at all at this professional piece of paradise on 18th Street in Adams Morgan. Bill's the handsome owner cutting & styling coifs at that very first chair when you walk in. And if it's color you want then you must see Lynn who knows exactly how to get the right hue for you. But be on your best behavior because at BILL LAWRENCE SALAON you might find yourself sitting next to a popular television anchor or even the Prez of a big tv network. Happy hair to ya!
READ: So, you really want a great escape? Then get caught up in the drama and relatable real-life in books by the self-proclaimed Don of Urban Fiction, DARREN COLEMAN and let him take you away. He's a former schoolteacher who now writes full-time and coaches a youth football league. You've likely seen someone cradling one of his books while sipping a tall skim cinnamon dolce latte at Starbucks or something. With titles like Do or Die, Before I Let Go, A Taste of Honey, Get Low and Ladies Listen Up, Darren seems to know just how to hit our sweet spot with sensitivity and flair. And since he was once a teacher, you can expect a lesson or two about life and love.
SHOP: Rachel Rules! She's the chick that came up with the concept and created the premiere place to get designer handbags - THE PURSE STORE. Located on Wisconsin Ave in Bethesda, this spot has all the names you'd recognize and some you certainly want to get familiar with. Bulga, Dulce, Francesco, Isabella, Pucci, Guiseppe and Sciapo to name a few. And now you can also get shoes and denim there. Yep, the girl from Manhattan with the Masters is working it out to the max. So go on girl and cop yourself a brand new bag at THE PURSE STORE!
WATCH: Why not make it a blockbuster or netflix night soon and sit down in front of your flat tube to watch Tyler Perry's WHY DID I GET MARRIED. You won't be disappointed in this movie about relationships and responsibility. Four couples go on a retreat to a house in the mountains to work out their marital problems and what they find out is that they have much bigger problems that they ever thought. You'll learn about the 80% - 20% rule (oh you'll want to know this). This flick is just funny enough and has just enough drama to not go too far in either direction. Catch man-wonder, Tyler Perry, Janet Jackson, Malik Yoba, Jill Scott, Richard T. Jones, Lamman Rucker, Michael Jai White, Tasha "scene stealer" Smith, Sharon Leal and Keesha Sharp. As a matter of fact you might not want to rent it, you might wanna buy it before saying "I Do!"
